I have a Master's Degree in Art with a focus on fiber and over 30 years' experience making fiber art in various mediums, ranging from weaving to quilting, collage, bead embroidery, paper-making, and mixed media work. For over 35 years I have taught students of all ages. I am passionate about sharing my expertise to help other fiber artists become better and more confident makers in their own favorite medium. Using Photographs to Design for Tapestry (6-hours: PowerPoint Lecture and hands-on design work, optional sample weaving) Virtual or In Person. Most of us carry a smartphone with us everywhere, and we have lots of photos that inspire us. But how can we turn those images into tapestries? In this class you'll discover how to distill the essence of a photo you love, to convey the mood or idea you have in mind.

Collage to Cartoon . . . and Beyond! In Person. 18-hour/3-day PowerPoint lecture, design work and optional weaving. This is the new, expanded version of Molly's popular Collage to Tapestry Cartoon workshop. Veterans of that class and new students will both find it useful. This class includes making your own patterned papers for collage, exploring mark-making, and refining your collage for weaving. Investigate open warps, irregular edges, stitch and mixed media to bring a collage feel to your weaving. Leave with a cartoon ready to weave.
